Best Buy created what they call the Geek Squad for all your computer needs.
F’ing Poser
Geek-chic highwaters and a 1980’s IBM suit and tie look with sunglasses to hide the total clueless look when you ask him anything technical.
Real Life
Business owner, programmer, marketer, and – when needed – real tech geek. I save my suit and tie for really dirty jobs. Like prostituting myself to a soulless corporation.
Oh yeah, wait… I don’t own a suit and tie anymore. ‘Nuff said.
I remember you yanking the old (and I mean, old) HD from ShadowNet. Yes, you are the tech geek! What’s the point in looking like a Resevoir Dog when you can’t pull a trigger anyway? The REAL men of geekdom wear what they’re wearing when they get a call.
Actually, the Geek Squad used to be cool… it was a small indie company of actual geeks, that all dressed alike and only went by “agent” names. They did such a great job, they weren’t able to grow fast enough–hence the Best Buy deal. Now they suck. Go figure.
Dave – I didn’t know that. It sounds much cooler in a Reservoir Dogs kind of way. I havn’t liked Best Buy’s implementation. It’s the same “Best Buy blue shirts” helping you just dressed differently. At my Best Buy – not friendly, either. Mr Blonde in the warehouse would probably be easier to get along with. 😉
