I am contemplating the day ahead… laying here listening to a storm roll through. Right now I can hear the rain dripping from the roof; ironically it reminds me of the sound of a crackling fire. The occasional roll of thunder reorients my senses that it truly is rain and the building is not burning down. The water heater, or at least I think that's it, is clicking; pipes and thermodynamic properties outside my ken making more water related sounds.
I've got on shorts and the bed covers are in disarray from constantly pulling on sheets or kicking them off with changes in temperature when the air conditioning kicks on. I can never get it set just right to comfortably cool the upstairs. I'd prefer an open window and a nice breeze but mother nature and architects don't always work well together for this. Besides, lately it would be too muggy. Not to mention the current thunderstorm and the piles of junk under my window that would probably get wet.
Another 30 minutes and I need to have hit the shower, gotten daughter up, and greeted the sitter, or I'll be running late again. It's so much easier to lay here just thinking about the day, and not yet participate in it.

By the time I posted this, I am still not showered, and daughter just got up because I went running down the stairs to let the sitter in, who sent me a text asking if I was going to leave her out standing in the rain all morning. Oops.
