Become a Henchman. See the world

+Halfdan Reschat opens up opportunities for wannabe henchmen and henchwomen. Henchfolk works too.

Although it is specified to not be a contest, a good henchman reads between the lines. First share.  #suckit  +Kimberly Chapman and +Mellie B. 😉

The Completely Arbitrary and Fickle Henchfolk Point System
(Shortcut: henchfolk.reschat.com)

Not too long ago I held a small "How Well Do You Know the Overlord?" quiz/contest (goo.gl/bLxDU) which ended with me giving out some points to several henchfolk. This led to the suggestion of an overall point system among the henchfolk – an idea I'm now embracing.

How It Works
1. Henchfolk will in one line sum up random acts when they happen (preferably with a link) done by any henchfolk (themselves included) which they feel deserves points added or subtracted. Too small, isolated incidents should be ignored in order not to flood the system.

2. The Overlord will evaluate the claim and add or subtract either the suggested amount or an adjusted amount to better fit with the general scale of the point system in this post. The Overlord will then make a comment containing the the name of the affected henchfolk, the points added/subtracted, the act summed up (preferably with a link), and the person who suggested the change. The original comment suggesting the change will be deleted to easily distinguish between pending and finished point change requests. Comments which aren't point change requests will not be deleted.

42. If the Overlord himself notices acts worthy of adding or subtracting henchfolk points he'll make the change – but also make a comment to announce the change.

The Individual Henchfolk Points
(Not included on this list = 0 henchfolk points)
+Scott Cramer: 20 points
+Kimberly Chapman: 20 points
+Mellie B: 17 points
+Sean Green: 17 points
+Dirk Reul: 16 points
+Mary C.: 10 points
+Fluffy McSharkah Khan: -23 points

Disclaimer
The Henchfolk Point System is just for fun and should not be considered a contest. This, however, does not mean that a little henchfolk-on-henchfolk blood is not rewarded; some degree of internal rivalry is very much encouraged.

  1. Mellie B says:

No one sucks quite as well as you, Cramer.

  2. Halfdan Reschat says:

You just had to beat +Kimberly Chapman concerning this in some way.

  3. Scott Cramer says:

    Thank you +Mellie B  #dropbear . 😉

  4. Scott Cramer says:

+Halfdan Reschat Yes. Yes, I did. Oh… it has only just begun.

  5. Kimberly Chapman says:

It's not beating me.  It's looking for points inside +Halfdan Reschat's colon.  And there aren't any.  I had it swept out by elves while he was sleeping last night.

  6. Scott Cramer says:

    #graciousloser   #not  😉

  7. Scott D says:

Hmmm henchfolk-on-henchfolk….depending on the particular henchfolk…that could be interesting…minus the blood part.

  8. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kimberly Chapman, you're right there. There are not being given any points out concerning resharing, commenting on, or +1ing the Henchfolk Point System post. The shenanigans should take place outside of the point system.

  9. Emilio Boronali says:

and what is a "henchman" ?

  10. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Emilio Boronali, here is the definition which still haven't been approved by the editors of Urban Dictionary:

    ————————
    henchfolk
    // noun
    // henchfolk, plural

Someone taking part in shenanigans involving the Overlord (on the Overlord's side) or shenanigans instigated/orchestrated by the Overlord.

Don't worry, Overlord. The henchfolk will come to order soon enough. 'Shenanigans' and 'Henchfolk' go hand-in-hand, after all.
    ————————

  11. Halfdan Reschat says:

That quote is by the way by +Mellie B, who I guess will get a henchfolk point (henchfolk.reschat.com) if the definition is approved by the Urban Dictionary editors.

  12. Emilio Boronali says:

+Halfdan Reschat Ah ! ! (And who is the Overlord?)

  13. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Emilio Boronali, I believe that is the first time anyone has asked me that. See if you can figure it out: http://plus.google.com/s/henchfolk

  14. Emilio Boronali says:

+Halfdan Reschat I would say "you"… (seems as funny as impossible to understand that game !  :-)))) )

  15. Halfdan Reschat says:

    😉

  16. Mellie B says:

    WOO HOOO! I'ma be PUBLISHED!

  17. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Mellie B, not quite yet. Your "work" is still being evaluated by editors. I, on the other hand, well… have still not been published; but I will be during the OPNETWORK 2012 conference which takes place August 13 through August 17 in D.C. (which I'm unfortunately not attending myself and my work will instead be presented by my supervisor).

  18. Halfdan Reschat says:

    +Mellie B, I got a mail saying:
    ————————?
Thanks for your definition of henchfolk!

Editors reviewed your entry and have decided to publish it on urbandictionary.com.

It should appear on this page in the next few days: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=henchfolk .

    Urban Dictionary
    ————————?

  19. Kimberly Chapman says:

    Woot!

Also I want a point for the whole henchFOLK thing in the first place.

Which means our alliance is kicking +Scott Cramer's backside all the way back to Jabba, ahahahahahahahaaaaa….

  20. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kimberly Chapman, I was planning on giving you a point too… when "henchfolk" appears on the site.

  21. Kimberly Chapman says:

    Booyeah!

Did I get a point for contributing to Fluffy McSharkah Khan's name, especially since it was even phrased that way in someone else's post, thus spreading the glory even before it was official?

(Hey I'm getting good at this self-aggrandizing thing…)

  22. Halfdan Reschat says:

+Kimberly Chapman, request points in the other thread and I'll get around to evaluating the claim. 😛

  23. Scott Cramer says:

Ah, but who was first to dub him the Overlord? 😉

  24. Scott Cramer says:

Don't make me go dig up the post. No, really, don't; I'm on mobile.

  25. Halfdan Reschat says:

    +Scott Cramer, don't worry – I remember.

  26. Kimberly Chapman says:

I can hear the groan of +Halfdan Reschat's headache increasing as he comes to terms with that which he hath wrought with these points…

  27. Halfdan Reschat says:

    <groan>
