Don't throw away the bottom of the bag chips! I fixed daughter and niece a plate of nachos for a snack and used the last of the big chips, leaving just the little broken ones. The great thing about melted cheese? It's like chip adhesive! Spread out the small pieces to get as much visible coverage area as possible and blanket with shredded cheese. If you have a lot of small pieces, layer chips and cheese as needed; it's all about cheesing every chip. Microwave for about a minute or until desired level of meltiness is achieved.
Seems like common sense but I've almost thrown the last bits out plenty of times so I thought I'd share.
Hint of lime chips, colby jack cheese, and impulse buy salsa are the ingredients of choice around here. 🙂

The bottom of the bag is good for crumbling on salads, chili, and casseroles, too.
+Author S. A. Hunt FTW! Very true… I embarrassingly had not thought of that!
while you get points for not wasting food … BOO for using a miocrowave  … any defense on microwaving food is invalid
+byron rempel Interested in hearing more! I would most likely starve without my microwave.
I tried microwave nachos and burned my mouth.
No matter what I microwave I always burn myself.
I find that microwaving sort of ruins food but most likely its just a personal thing. My mom uses hers all the time. We have one too but we never use it anymore.
I was just busting yer bawls 🙂
I was worried you knew something about microwaving food, irradiation, and the zombie apocalypse! 😉
Also, most foods better from the oven. Can not disagree. Although… The microwave flatbread sandwiches by Stouffer's ($2.50 in the freezer section are quite tasty).
+Scott Cramer I thought everyone knew about the microwave radiation causing a neurotic craving of human flesh
Explains so much… I thought I just had butter on my hands from the popcorn!
