Seeing these pics brother +Keith Cramer snapped is surreal. It feels like waking up from a coma to the post apocalyptic present.
I was there earlier in the year but only saw the backyard and outside. Seeing the gazebo my dad and I built in such disrepair was emotional.
Thanks for the pics bro. Interesting to see after all these years. All our first computer times were right there! From 1200 baud up!

Today I dropped by the house +Scott Cramer and I grew up in (lived there nearly 20 years). It's been abandoned for a couple of years now, maybe more. Every so often when I'm in the neighborhood I'll stop by in hopes that a nice family has moved in and is enjoying the house as much as we did.
Still no luck. Every time I stop by it's in even worse shape. No different today. It's a real downer.
While I was peeking in the window today I decided to give the door a try and surprisingly it was unlocked. So, if you're a police officer in the Fort Wayne area, you can just stop reading now! 🙂
Anyway we took the opportunity to take a little tour of the house and snap some pictures… which depressed me even more. The place has been destroyed. 🙁
The room with the Star Wars wall paper was my old bedroom. I slept on a bed that was 5 foot high and built into a wall decorated with wall paper from "The Empire Strikes Back" (may explain a lot about me – right?) The wall across from my bed was completely covered in cork. Incredible idea for anyone with kids. You can pin anything you want to the wall! There was a wall just like it in +Scott Cramer's room.
The room with the carpeted staircase and now a hole that goes all they way through the roof was +Scott Cramer's room. The stairway led to a small hide-a-way room that our Dad built in the attic.
The room where my wife +Lori Cramer and son are posing was the family room. There were a lot of hours spent in there. Evidently there were a few things that the previous owners decided they didn't need.
A lot of happy memories there. Super depressing seeing it like this. 🙁

What a shame. I remember feeling the same way the last time I went back to NZ and saw my old house. My favorite climbing tree had been cut down and the place looked ramshackle. Apparently a young couple have bought the house and are renovating it so hopefully it'll look better the next time I go check it out
PS, The door is still unlocked if you want to go over and depress yourself.
Tempted… don't get weird time travel chances like this often.
