Every year I look forward to seeing the Christmas lights pop up in neighborhoods around me. I love the classy displays, the gaudy but fun houses, and even the homes with just one or two decorations (at least they made an effort)!
I want to be that Chevy Chase neighbor who has to take out a loan just to pay the electric bill for December. Some day! 😀
I snapped this pic the other night. It's the only time of year where coming to a screeching halt in front of someone's house at night and taking a picture leaning out your car window is not cause for alarm. 😉

My dear +Scott Cramer the USA are famous for this! Also in Europe this trend is coming… In Naples we don't have house like these in the photo that You have post. We live into square buildings and so everyone of us adjust him light "chain" as well! The result is the same but our lights is more chaotically! 🙂
No one else has lights out yet on my street. I called them no fun last night and the boy generously said, "well, at least most of them have dogs so they are some fun. But, we are the most fun on our street."

There is a house in a local neighborhood that always has one of those crazy displays that you can see for blocks. The house on a bend in the road (on the inside) so they have 3 sides fully decorated. If I remember correctly there are a couple generators to keep it lit.
THAT would be AWESOME. 😉
If we go to see it I will try and get a decent shot.
