I've pledged to draw a +Halfdan Reschat cartoon every day until he gets to America on his visit for this New Year's! Apparently +Fluffy McSharkah Khan found out that Halfdan is coming (now, how did that happen?) and Halfdan is in a bind trying to figure out what to do with him. I present a very probable scenario in today's cartoon. 😉

In honor of +Halfdan Reschat's visit to America this New Year's, brother +Keith Cramer decided to drink (at least one) beer every night until he gets here. He then asked me what I was going to do daily to honor Halfdan's visit to our fair country. I said that I would draw a cartoon of Halfdan every day until he gets here! Whereas Keith is a beer drinker and I am not a cartoonist, I think my challenge is much more meaningful.

In honor of +Halfdan Reschat’s visit to America this New Year’s, brother +Keith Cramer decided to drink (at least one) beer every night until he gets here. It was a day just like any other. And then, there was a knock at the door. Three knocks to be precise. I looked out and there was nobody there. "Huh? Weird." I thought. Then I heard a flat hollow voice instructing me to look down. When I did, I saw something sitting at the threshold of the doorway. Kneeling down to have a closer look, I was confronted with what looked like a tiny silver robot. Curiouser and curiouser! Before I could say another word there were sounds coming from either side of the doorway. I looked to the right and a tiny blue metal figure was rolling toward me. It was shrieking the word, "Exterminate!" over and over. To the left, I saw a zombie figure lumbering persistently to the open door. Before I knew it they were all standing, menacingly tiny, in front of me. The silver robot thing that had first knocked bid me goodbye in an ominous tone. As panic started to set in, I heard another noise, but this time coming from the stairs behind me. "Oh no," I thought. "More of them." I turned quickly and saw a very tiny redheaded girl with the key to my car. "Run!!!" she yelled. I do not remember all the events immediately after but we survived. She introduced me to a friend she called "Doctor" and his fantastic blue box. We all ran together. And we've been running ever since.

Thank you so very much to +Secret Santa for the generous and awesomely geeky gifts! +Dirk Reul is totally credited with the Cyberman who started the attack on my Townhouse today. The Dalek, Walking Dead Zombie, and Amy Pond were anonymously just signed, "Secret Santa" when they arrived together in one box. Thank you to Dirk and thank you to Anonymous Secret Wonderful Person. You have officially started the holiday season for me! And, to Anonymous, there was one other gift but I am keeping it secret because it is so awesome that it will be going to daughter on Christmas day and I do not want her to see!

For taking clips from different shows to fill in the lyrics, this one is very well done and quite smooth. They also throw in some cute extras that do not adhere strictly to the song. Very cute.

There was a knock at the door as I was about to get in the shower. I grabbed the black shorts I use for pajama pants and hurriedly draped on a nearby button up shirt as I jogged down the stairs. Opening the door, the wind slightly blew back my shirt as I was greeted by our female mail carrier holding a box for me. Mind you, this is more dressed than at a swimming pool but the whole moment, especially with the look on her face, was totally awkward! Every year I look forward to seeing the Christmas lights pop up in neighborhoods around me. I love the classy displays, the gaudy but fun houses, and even the homes with just one or two decorations (at least they made an effort)!

I want to be that Chevy Chase neighbor who has to take out a loan just to pay the electric bill for December. Some day! 😀

I snapped this pic the other night. It's the only time of year where coming to a screeching halt in front of someone's house at night and taking a picture leaning out your car window is not cause for alarm. 😉
