With Fall in the Midwest comes changing leaves and cooler temperatures. Pumpkin Spice is back at Starbucks and Halloween creeps up on you like a ghoul. It's tradition here to have at least one round of pumpkin carving before All Hallow's Eve.
Daughter and I finished up pumpkins earlier today. We harvested the seeds and will be cooking those up. The alien pod looking gourd was something new for us this year and it thwarted all efforts short of power tools to carve it; we resorted to a black sharpie and created what my daughter now dubs "the zombie baby". The largest pumpkin is her design, the emoticon that matches my tattoo is my design, and the warty pumpkin was a collaborative effort. +Kristi Fahlsing was over earlier in the day and she and her son ended up with a Power Rangers pumpkin but she has those photos.

New Favorite Drink – Pumpkin Spice Chai Latte – Plus Many Life Links to G+
Daughter and I are ending the day with last week's Amazing RaceÂ
and Tazo Pumpkin Spice Chai Lattes hot off the stove. This is the next best thing (maybe better?) than the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Chai that I love.
Daughter chose the "Squidward Mystery" mug designed by +Mary C. and given to me by mostly confirmed Mary and a yet to be discovered mystery person. I had second choice and picked the "Evolution of Zombie" mug given to me by my oldest friend +Rhonda Britton.
Note: Three of these Tazo boxes were less than $8 at Costco. One to one ration of tea with milk; though next time I think I will do more tea and less milk for a little stronger flavor.
Earlier today we attended the Fort Wayne zombie walk with +Kristi Fahlsing and her youngest. Weather was iffy so we did not dress up for fear it was going to be rained out. As it was, other than being chilly, the weather turned out great. I proudly wore my +byron rempel zombie shirt but sadly did not gen any referrals (and I even had pen and paper ready in my pocket to write down his site).
Afterwards, since the weather was holding, we all met my sister and her husband +Glenn Meisner at a local corn maze and hung out there for close to three hours, including fire pits and s'mores. AND I referred one person to Byron's website! 😉

How I came to be Zombie Slave Princess Leia – and – The Wonder that is Zombie Artist Byron Rempel
It started out innocently enough when I criticized some pretty bad Star Wars cosplay in a post. +Halfdan Reschat, always on the ready to instigate some mischief, challenged me to do better. I very quickly pulled my brother +Keith Cramer into it and soon Keith and I were competing in a costume contest and the loser would have to dress up as Slave Princess Leia in an online public hangout. I lost. All the details and links to posts and video are in my profile, for the brave of heart and not weak of stomach.
Flash forward quite a bit and another mischievous friend (hello +Kyla Myers) surprised me with an anonymous zombification as part of the very talented +byron rempel's 1000 Zombies Art Project (+1000 zombies). Slave Princess Leia is proudly Zombie #178. 🙂
Flash forward some more, and I was interacting with Byron on a post talking about some of his wonderful zombie shirt designs. I asked if he could make Zombie #178 available as a shirt and by the end of the night, there it was! He tweaked the design a bit for me and put up a couple versions. The man is not only insanely talented, he is a super nice guy. I waited until the latest season of The Walking Dead premiered and both +Kristi Fahlsing and I ordered shirts. Kristi was not originally in the market for a zombie me on her chest, but she really liked the second design Byron put up. Earlier today +Kari Tedrick ordered one like Kristi's, but in purple. So, now I am not only Zombie #178, but I'm part of the Zombie #178 Army.
Thank you so much +Halfdan Reschat, +Keith Cramer, +Kyla Myers, +byron rempel, and the glue that put us all together, G+ (so +Vic Gundotra gets the tag) for a wacky and fun sequence of events leading me to my new favorite shirt. I have determined since it is a zombie that it doesn't make me vain to say that. Right? 😉
