We can rebuild it!

Better… Faster… Hopefully not for Six Million Dollars. 😉

The latest pics from my Bug rebuild have been added to the album. It looks like total crap right now but there's just something really cool about seeing the car without the body. Well, at least at this stage. If it were all done and painted, I'd be freaking out if it were in pieces again. Pretty much, everything is being redone. Some pieces will be cleaned and saved, but only major components. Donor body, engine, and other parts are still off-site. It's so hard to see the progress when it looks like an automobile version of a zombie!

…and today I proclaim it to be Zombie VW Day!

Btw, good luck in your restoration project!

Funny you should say that +Damian Sanchez……. see next post.

  4. Brendan Farrell says:

Love it. glad to see some movement on it.  I'm dangerously close to pulling the trigger on a buggy project as soon as I'm done with the car project I'm tied up in.

  5. Katie Spina says:

This is a great place to order parts you might need.  I've passed the building on the highway for years, and they are very obviously a VW place.  http://www.partsplaceinc.com/

  6. Scott Cramer says:

+Katie Spina Will check that out later! Thanks!

+Brendan Farrell Project… so… slow……… It's all about having the time and the money at the same time! 🙂

Also, if you're interested, you can buy a certificate from the Museum in Germany to get some info on when it was built and when it originally left the factory. http://www.volkswagen-automuseum.de/index.php?id=12&L=1#

  9. Scott Cramer says:

    +Katie Spina Love it!

  10. Basil Doeringsfeld says:

What's your prediction on time to finish the project? Always a thought provoking question…

  11. Kari Tedrick says:

+Scott Cramer love your bug. Can't wait to see it progress as you start putting her back together.

  12. Scott Cramer says:

+Basil Doeringsfeld Was hoping she'd be done before this summer. That didn't quite work out (by a long shot). So, now, I'm hoping before 2013. Dependent on funds and mechanic!

  13. Basil Doeringsfeld says:

Nice. Well if I were your brother, I'd help you out in any way I could! Just sayin, +Keith Cramer.

  14. Scott Cramer says:

    You rock. 😉

Can't say too much… it's been sitting in Keith's garage for most of the past decade. 😉

  15. Basil Doeringsfeld says:

As a sibling that stores more of my brother's and sister's things at my house than my own, much credit to Keith!

  16. Marcus Holloway says:

I think 6 (as in years) might be right.
