Yahoo Hulu Deal?

I subscribe to Hulu. I'm not sure what I think about this one. On the one hand, an influx of cash could make Hulu better. On the other hand, innovation, new programming, and licensing could get squashed.

What do you think?

Not there +Scott Cramer – is it good?

  2. Kyla Myers says:

That's an awful lot of acquisitions going on at Yahoo right now. I wonder if Ms Mayer is looking to make her mark.

  3. Scott Cramer says:

Oh, she's made it. They don't have enough cash on hand for the Hulu deal to be cash so I am curious how that offer plays out

+Tazein Mirza Saad Is Hulu good? It's not a bad legal alternative for watching many missed programs. Not all shows are there though.

  6. L.S. Cody says:

Although I don't watch Hulu much, I shudder to think about what Yahoo would do. Would Hulu skidoo unless maybe Google stepped forward to make it Google-u?

  7. matthew rappaport says:

We talked about this tonight on Google Plus Week ..Yahoo wants to become relevant and hip again with Tumblr and Hulu, +Marissa Mayer wants to make YAHOO, google-like and eventually have a new Yahoo Social experience combining all these already popular places. They are buying content and making content that would be perfect under the +Hulu Plus name!

  8. Dan Wilcox says:

Best thing to do is wait it out and see what happens. It might be a good thing and then again it might not be. Time will tell what really happens.

  9. Scott Cramer says:

    Good comments, all.

+matthew rappaport That would have been a good conversation. One of these days, man, I'm going to stumble into one of these; right place, right time. 😉

Hulu and Netflix make for an excellent pair of sights.  Hulu has more current series available for free streaming, but Netflix has more movies.  I briefly had Hulu Plus, but their selection of premium content didn't justify the $8/mo.  It was poor.  I could watch all of the same stuff for free.  And as a prem member, I still had to watch commercials!  That is whacked.
