First off, I'm not affiliated with +Matthew Ebel in any way; he just impressed me. Not only does he "Get It" with social media and customer interaction, but his songs are worth paying for — the ones he doesn't give you for free.
Check out his sites's welcome page (link below). Listen to his tunes on his site, or go to YouTube. Sign up for his e-mail and he will give you five songs DRM free. He alludes to sending you fun freebies in the postal mail and is even playing with a text notification system for letting you know when he is playing in your area. If you are web-familiar at all, you'll seen in seconds that this dude "gets" the new media, and especially how it relates to music. Anyone working with social media should take a peek, not just record execs and marketers as I said in the title of this post.
Icing on the cake — why you know he's on top of it. I posted a song of his on my Google+ stream. I posted the same thing to my vanity blog. Within a day, Matthew had left a nice thank you and link to more of his music as a comment on my blog.
It's here if you want to take a look. http://www.ransackery.com/everybody-needs-a-ninja-by-matthew-ebel.htm
Very welcoming and not at all spammy. He got me on his e-mail list. And after visiting his site and getting on the list, I was impressed enough to want to tell you all to check him out. Whether it be as a musical fan, or someone who works with the web, you really should take a few minutes and check him out.
Let me know what you think.
