wouldnt surprise me.. if they do it will give the Apple lawyers another target to start suing. They must be thrilled at the prospect of another revenue stream.

  2. Glenn Costello says:

As far as I'm aware apple has not brought a suit against amazon for the kindle fire. With the 7 inch form factor and the highly customized specific purpose UI it's probably much harder to show its a knockoff relative to Samsung products.

  3. Scott Cramer says:

I'm sure Samsung would welcome anyone else taking some heat. 😉

What are the chances that it is going to run on Android OS? My guess all bets are off especially if amazon wants to push its own marketplace over Google play.

  5. Glenn Costello says:

+Rohin Irani I think it has to keep running on the forked version of android they developed. The people they have sold a lot of apps to would not be pleased if the new one were not compatible.

  6. Scott Cramer says:

I'm looking forward to the pre Christmas buying season releases. Ought to be interesting what gets pushed to market.

+Scott Cramer Me too. It will be interesting to see with Windows 8 phones and now Amazon's entry into the mobile phone market, newer phones carrying Jelly Bean and iPhone with iOS 6, how the pre holiday mobile phone market spans out.
