Desktop Jellyfish Tank

So cool! My worry is that I would look at it cross-eyed and they would all die. The price of the jellyfish themselves are $39 and $55 for small and large moon jellyfish so most of the expenditure appears to be in the equipment. If anyone has or gets one, I would love to hear about it!

Oh wooooow this would be amazing. I wonder how gross it would get and how you clean it. It won't always stay like that :/

  2. Susan Myers says:

I saw this before some time back and would love one as well.

  3. Richard Ball says:

As I recall, the lifetime of the jellyfish is pretty short and the replacement cost is high.

  4. Rae Ouzts says:

    That is awesome!

  5. Rob Go says:

I keep seeing this on Fab. It taunts me and says, "Buy me, mofo."

  6. Sergio Garza says:

I would eventually get bored and just use this to dare my friends to touch them, hoping they get shocked

  7. Scott Cramer says:

+Rob Go Fab is also where I saw it!

+Sergio Garza Or at least convincing them they will get shocked and standing behind them with a live wire? hehe

  8. Sheila Garl says:

Meh. I'd rather my reef tank any day. Jellies aren't that active (and they don't shock, they sting, and moon jellies cnidoblasts can't penetrate human skin).

  9. Scott Cramer says:

+Sheila Garl Reef tank would be awesome. I did a salt water tank double digit years ago and failed miserably. I most recently had a fresh water tank for several years but it crashed last year and I have not set it back up. Do you have any pics online?

  10. Aldric Newberry says:

As cool as this is, I wouldn't. Cost prohibitive.

  11. Scott Cramer says:

Ditto +Aldric Newberry – still would like to hear about it from someone who owns one. Especially maintenance.

  12. Aldric Newberry says:

I was an avid freshwater tank owner for many years, also even bred Angelfish, Bettas, and several other species..

Saltwater is just too much for me..
