Learned something new this MLK Day. "Ofay" and "Oxford Grey" were terms I did not know. I listened to a radio program on the local NPR station and got to hear this oldie but goody. Hope you enjoy! Sorry so late… had a little trouble remembering the title which made it hard to locate. 😉

How fitting for this tune of brotherhood with a beat to be played on King Day! The recording comes from a 1945 New York radio appearance by Louis Jordan and his Tympani 5 that appeared on a Cd of Jordan’s radio cuts in 1990. This delightful pro-integration ditty was too hot to handle for the record industry at the time, so it did not see the light of day until the cd I just mentioned.
