A little Idus Martii verse for you, my friends. 😉
What happened to your nose?
Like your body, was it left behind
in some foreign land
or distant time?
You thought to be immortal
and set yourself in stone –
your greatness long remembered
after going to your tomb.
Your unflinching gaze
from cold unseeing eyes
you thought would get respect
from those that passed you by.
I must tell you that you have survived
but as far as greatness goes,
I really know not who you are
and only wonder, "Where's your nose?"

If you carve your own bust, will people in the future think you were important?
