The Google+ Experience — A post that touched me

Some good words from +Randy Resnick that he allowed me to post public. My favorite line, "…if you touch one person once in a while on G+, it's already an amazing thing." Here is the rest of his post, in it's entirety:

Someone recently said about G+ "Rather than post stuff you think will interest people, post stuff that interests you." (Sorry I didn't notice who said that, I should have because it's counter-intuitive but I think it's a good idea, pretty much like "Be yourself." Counter-intuitive, because no one wants to be an outsider. Most people want to see those circle numbers grow. Long ago, when I was playing in bars, I learned something about music. Most people in the bar are there for a variety of reasons, but seldom just to listen to the music. So we all realized that if you see one person or a few people during the night and you know they are listening to you play, just listening, not listening while they are scoping out someone, or getting drunk, or dancing, but listening, grooving, hearing you play, you've won the game. The analogy here is that if you touch one person once in a while on G+, it's already an amazing thing. That person may be someone you'd never meet in real life, someone whose country you may never visit, someone who has almost nothing in common with you, yet you have touched them with a thought. Something intangible. Not like buying them a drink, or a hot dog. Just a thought, an idea. Suddenly, the posturing makes no sense.

Re-posted public (he originally posted to extended circles) with permission from Randy. 🙂

There are so many pictures and animated GIF's and jokes, etc, that when I find some words worth sharing, I hate to see them get lost in the stream. Hope someone else enjoys them as much as I did.

Thanks +Scott Cramer , I guess mission accomplished in both directions. I'll try to do better, but I did touch someone 🙂 Like I said, that's a miracle of our time.

I like finding new music and laughing at funny posts, but it's the stuff like this that keeps me coming back and desiring interacting with people that I have never met.
